Principals of RFC have originated the largest portfolio of wind and solar project land in the North America with 3GW’s of transactions from wind and solar project sponsors. Our track record also includes real estate acquisition, power plant development, finance, and construction of over 1000MW of installed renewable energy capacity.
We also work with solar, wind and other renewable energy project sponsors and development companies to deploy investment capital for late stage or operational renewable projects.

Our History
Pioneers in renewable finance, from the beginning.
Renewable Finance Company was founded by veterans of the wind energy industry. We initially formed American Wind Capital in 2008. American Wind Capital quickly became the leader in renewable energy lease and easement ground rent conversions. In May 2014, Hannon Armstrong Sustainable Infrastructure Capital, Inc. (NYSE: HASI) acquired American Wind Capital Company. AWCC Capital was founded in 2014 to continue to originate solar and wind related real estate transactions and manage the existing portfolio of 1000 MW’s of ground rent revenue under 40 renewable projects in 14 US states. In January of 2018 AWCC Capital was acquired by Marathon Capital. In 2020 Renewable Finance Company was formed to continue our mission benefiting renewable energy development and finance in the United States.

Leadership
Mr. Hinckley founded Renewable Finance Company and leads the Company’s acquisition effort. In addition to over twenty-five years of Sales and Marketing experience, Mr. Hinckley has almost fifteen years of renewable energy experience including the development or financing over two hundred wind and solar projects. Andrew was Senior Vice President and Co-Founder of American Wind Capital Company. Co-Founder and Managing Director of AWCC Capital. He also held the Director of Business Development at Noble Environmental Power and other project management roles. Andrew is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder.
